Allen J. Scott is a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of California – Los Angeles. He is the author of numerous books and scientific papers on issues concerning urbanisation, regional development, the cultural  economy, and globalisation. He has won many awards and prizes, including the Vautrin Lud Prize (the “Nobel Prize of Geography,” 2003), the Anders Retzius Gold Medal (presented by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, 2009), and the Sir Peter Hall Prize (Regional Studies Association, 2013). 

 

He has worked as a consultant for international organisations  and governmental agencies in many different parts of the world.
